GeoWorks’ GeoPartner Foursquare has announced improvements to its location technology platform. The company said that it has developed an enterprise-grade API, the Places Enterprise API and has also relaunched its Places Database. The Places Database now combines Foursquare’s dataset with that of Factual, which it had merged with in April 2020.

“With more enterprises turning to location technology as a crucial ingredient to their technology stack, we wanted to rebuild our API with more modern infrastructure to better support the needs of our customers and partners with improved data quality and better scaling capabilities,” said Aditi Kohli, Foursquare’s Managing Director, APAC. “Our two improved offerings will now not only empower enterprises and developers to use Places as a tool to solve complex business problems, but will also serve as a foundational building block to help power their growth.”

Foursquare’s Places database represents a comprehensive map of the world. It can be used to design engaging experiences for users, conduct more comprehensive market assessment, among others.

The Places Enterprise API has been developed with simplified current endpoints and a new explorer tool which enables developers to test code snippets in the browser.

Foursquare's Pols are also available on Singapore Land Authority's OneMap.
