Air taxi services will be available in cities soon, said Grace Chew, a Business Development Consultant from Volocopter (GeoWorks GeoTech) at a GeoWorks’ webinar on fostering a geospatial ecosystem in May.

“We believe that is absolutely doable. Of course there are a few challenges that we need to tackle and approach but we feel very confident to master the challenges,” Ms Chew said during the session on the 28th of May which was held in collaboration with the Institut Teknologi Bandung Indonesia.

“The reasons why we are looking into urban air mobility are due to new challenges that require new solutions. For example, 70 percent of the world’s population will live in cities, increasing road congestions in the cities,” she said during her presentation on urban air mobility.

During the webinar, speakers from GeoSpock Ltd and Synspective Inc. - who are also GeoWorks’ GeoTechs - shared insights about their companies’ geospatial products and solutions.

Archeilia Dwianca, a Customer Solutions Engineer at Synspective Inc, spoke about its Land Displacement Monitoring Solution while John Yam, the General Manager of GeoSpock Ltd, talked about reinventing how big data is organised.
