Audi, BMW, Daimler Consortium Leads UNL’s US$4.5M Funding to ‘Pixelise’ the Physical World
UNL, a GeoWorks GeoTech, has received a US$4.5M funding to ‘pixelise’ the physical world by a consortium comprising of German carmakers Audi, BMW and Daimler with a focus on a location platform for navigation and mapping leads.
Founded in 2018, UNL, a Singapore-based startup provides micro-location and mapping technology, offering a library of plug-and-play geospatial solutions to help businesses build scalable, hyper-local services and applications – from e-commerce to last-mile and smart city solutions.
UNL pixelises the physical world into a multi-resolution smart grid to give any location a digital and verifiable address – UNL geoID – similar to an IP address. UNL geoIDs uniquely map out and address spaces with up to 1x1 cm2 precision, covering outdoor, indoor and elevation.
