What is Singapore Geospatial Week?

The week will bring the geospatial community (public and private sector as well as the community-at-large) together for co-located activities promoting the use of GPS/location-based and mapping innovation and technology. During the week, industry and community events are curated and co-located under the Singapore Geospatial Week calendar of events.

In addition, we will also be celebrating GeoWorks' anniversary!

GeoWorks Anniversary Date: 2 September Happy one year anniversary to GeoWorks! GeoWorks was set up by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) in 2018 as an initiative under the Singapore Geospatial Master Plan to promote geospatial industry growth and public-private partnerships. #HBDGeoWorks [By Invitation Only]	Esri Singapore User Conference 2019 Date: 3 September Venue: MAX Atria @ Singapore EXPO Time: 10:00AM to 5:00PM The Esri Singapore User Conference is Singapore’s largest geospatial event highlighting how GIS technology drives achievements across a wide range of industries - locally and regionally. English Tea & Teh Tarik - UK - Singapore cross border talk Date: 3 September Time: 5.30PM to 7.30PM Venue: GeoWorks In partnership with UK-based Ordnance Survey and its incubation facility Geovation, GeoWorks will be hosting a Singapore-UK forum for geospatial companies looking to explore entering the Singapore market. Likewise, the forum is also geared towards helping Singapore geospatial companies expand into UK and Europe. The event is supported by the UK Department for International Trade. RSVP here!	Grab Mapathon Date 4 September Time: 2:00PM to 5:00PM Venue: Grab's Headquarters @ Marina One The Mapathon participants will map ramps and sidewalks infrastructure in Singapore for improving accessibility for differently-abled people. The Mapathon will include an introduction to Grab and OpenStreetMap, basics of mapping with OSM followed by a hands-on mapping session to map accessible routes for wheelchair-friendly ramps, steps and inclines on OpenStreetMap. The Regional Geospatial Youth Forum (RGYF) will see young geospatial professionals from around the region, gather and share their experiences through a series of conversations and geospatial poster/map showcase. Focusing on the three key principles, Innovate, Inspire and Collaborate, RGYF aims to build a community of passionate geospatial champions.

Raffles' Banded Langur Working Group Title: Conservation of Critically Endangered Leaf Monkey, the Raffles’ Banded Langur in Singapore Using Geospatial The Raffles’ Banded Langur is a critically endangered primate species that was first discovered from Singapore nearly 200 years ago. This leaf-eating monkey is only found in Singapore and southern Peninsular Malaysia with a small global population size of 300-400 individuals. In order to ensure the long-term survival of this highly threatened species, it is important to understand their spatial use of the forest habitat to identify key conservation hotspots and areas for reforestation and reconnectivity.	Hexagon Geospatial Title: Visual Analytics - How To Augment the Human Analyst With new crime reports coming in every minute in Indonesia, it is essential to have a central monitoring and crime analysis starting from the sub-district level up to the national level. The idea is to create sophisticated spatial analytics tools that will provide decision makers with a more comprehensive set of data and quickly analyse reported crimes and other incidents. These tools can also be used to visualise where and when crimes mostly occur and identify patterns to prioritise and position their resources.
