About Singapore's Southern Islands

The Southern Islands of Singapore are the offshore islands located off the south coast of Singapore, comprising of eight main islands – Sentosa Island, St John’s Island, Lazarus Island, Seringat Island, Kusu Island, Sisters’ Islands (Big Sister’s and Small Sister’s) and Tekukor Island.

The Singapore Land Authority manages St John’s Island, Lazarus Island and Kusu Island. These idyllic island gems provide a quiet respite for Singaporeans away from the city.

1] Start off with a ferry from Marina South Pier to St John's Island.

2] Take a 15 to 20 min walk to the beautiful Lazarus beach over the Lazarus causeway.

Getting there

By Ferry: Regular ferry services serve St John’s and Kusu Islands on fixed schedules from Marina South Pier. There is no scheduled ferry services to Lazarus Island / beach, you will have to walk there from St John’s Island. 

By Private Boat Services: Private hire boat services are also available for charter from Marina South Pier if you prefer a more flexible schedule.  

Getting to Marina South Pier: Marina South Pier is easily accessible via MRT (Marina South Pier Station), taxi or public transport.


Safety Advisory

Please note the following guidelines when visiting the SLA-managed islands:

·       Please bring along sufficient drinking water and food to last the whole day as there are no retail and F&B shops on the island. 

·       Occasional encounters with wildlife in natural environments are unavoidable. 

·       There are no medical services available on the islands. 

·       Camping is only permitted at designated areas, click here to apply for camping permits. Any public event requires a Public Entertainment License 

·       Recently, there have been sightings of box jellyfish in Singapore's waters. For the safety of our island hoppers, SLA has put up advisories on the Southern Islands, which includes information on recognising symptoms of jellyfish stings as well as the administering of basic first aid. SLA would like to remind visitors to stay vigilant even as they enjoy the beauty of the islands.
