Corporate Social Responsibility

At SLA, we manage State lands responsibly for use by the communities. Our ethos is to "Contribute and Create Sustainability". We aim to give back to the community in a sustainable way, with a focus on supporting the less-privileged elderly and developing the less-privileged children.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT

SLA is a strong supporter of the Community Chest Share programme. Since 2010, we have been conferred the Platinum Award for our continual support and contribution towards the programme in helping to make a difference to the lives of the less fortunate.

Through our various corporate programmes, staff can also choose to donate their monetary rewards to charity. Proceeds from the auctioning of corporate gifts are also donated to charity.

Over the years, SLA has organised various community engagement activities such as fund-raising events and bazaars, home visits to the elderly, distribution of goodie bags to our beneficiaries and excursions for less-privileged children to places of interest.

At SLA, we believe that every contribution counts.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION & CONSCIOUSNESS

SLA believes strongly in being responsible for the environment we live in. In 2012, we were awarded the Green Office Label by Singapore Environment Council. In 2016, we were re-certified with our Eco-Office Award by Singapore Environment Council and City Development Limited.

Apart from driving awareness and educating our staff on current environmental issues, SLA has initiated and adopted multiple eco-friendly practices in our office such as "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3Rs)" as well as "Green & Gracious SLA" campaigns.

Lunch-time “Green” talks and movies are also organised regularly. Nature walks and our continued participation in the annual Earth Hour campaign are some of the activities we take part in to support our endeavours to “Go Green”.

For Lye Chong who believes that sustainability is a mindset, and it starts at home, encouraging a green shift in culture and thinking within SLA and its stakeholders is often at the foremost of his mind.
