CONDUCTING A PROPERTY BOUNDARY SURVEY(For Property Owners)
A property owner will need to engage a practising Registered Surveyor to carry out the property boundary survey. The list of practitioners can be found here. From then on, the Registered Surveyor will deal with SLA directly to fulfil the technical and administrative requirements of a property boundary survey.
SURVEY REFERENCE SYSTEM
For the Registered Surveyor to carry out the survey, a survey reference system is required. The system consists of physical points on the ground that the Registered Surveyor use in the process of his field work. SLA manages this network of points that is known as the survey control network.
CONDUCTING A CADASTRAL SURVEY (For Registered Surveyors)
The main steps involved in the process of a cadastral survey consist of the Allocation of Lot Numbers and Inspection of Survey Plans.
ALLOCATION OF LOT NUMBERS
Every land parcel in Singapore is uniquely identified by a lot number. This identifier has two components, namely the survey districts Mukim (MK) or Town Subdivision (TS) number and the lot number.
SURVEY MAPS AND PLANS
A survey plan shows the location of the property identified by the lot number and its boundaries. SLA maintains a record of maps and plans in electronic form.
