2. The tenancy for each of the six plots is three years, with an option to renew for a further 3 years. The tenancies will commence on 1 March 2012. The allowable uses for the six plots range from commercial and lifestyle to sports and recreation, and are similar to the existing uses. More details on the allowable uses, tendered rent and the number of bids received for each plot are at Annex A.

3. The existing sub-tenants may negotiate with the successful bidders to enter into fresh tenancy agreements if they wish to continue their business operations.

4. SLA would like to take this opportunity to remind prospective sub-tenants who are interested in entering into sub-tenancy agreements with the tenants of State properties that they should conduct due diligence checks to ensure, amongst others, that (i) the tenant has obtained SLA’s prior written consent for the proposed sub-tenancy; and (ii) the proposed sub-tenancy complies with the uses as approved by the planning authority.

About SLA

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is a statutory board with the Ministry of Law. Its mission is to optimise land resources for the economic and social development of Singapore. SLA is responsible for the direct management of some 14,000 hectares of State land and about 5,000 buildings. It is also in charge of land sales, leases, acquisitions and allocation, developing and marketing land-related information, and maintaining the national land information database through digitised land information services. SLA is also the national land registration authority for property transactions, and the issuance and guarantee of land titles in Singapore. It also manages and maintains the national land survey system, including the defining of boundaries or legal limits of properties based on a coordinated cadastre survey system.
