"Positioning Singapore for the future"

As we push the frontiers of spatial management with vast improvements in IT and positioning techniques, surveyors and engineers look forward to more efficient measuring techniques. Leading-edge technologies like satellite positioning technology are readily available and adopted in various applications.

In this seminar, papers will be presented to highlight the new GPS infrastructure known as the Singapore Satellite Positioning Reference Network (SiReNT). The system is a nation-wide reference station network infrastructure developed to support surveying, mapping, GIS, navigation and tracking business and industries. An initiative of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), SiReNT supports all modes of GPS positioning including the real-time Differential GPS (DGPS) positioning. It is flexible and ready for integration into various applications with minimal configuration necessary. With SiReNT, you can achieve a positional accuracy of down to centimetres using only one roving GPS receiver, allowing for higher productivity. GPS applications in land surveying, hydrographical surveying, vehicles navigation and tracking will also be presented.

The seminar presents interested parties with a chance to interact and exchange ideas amidst a showcase of a wide range of GPR equipment and demonstrations carried out by the equipment vendors.
