1 Yellow Pages (Singapore) Limited (YPS) has been given the licensing rights by Singapore Land Authority (SLA) to publish the latest edition of the Singapore street directory. YPS had approached SLA on their interest to publish the street directory, in light of popular demand for their publication. This is the second time that YPS has obtained a licence to use SLA's base map data, since they were given the licence to publish the 2002 edition of the Singapore street directory.

2 Yellow Pages' Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Miss Elsa Tan said, "We are happy to collaborate with SLA again on the publication of the Singapore street directory. YPS' licence from SLA to publish the authoritative street directory is an affirmation of our quality publishing standard recognised by institutions including the government bodies. It definitely reinforces our market leader presence in the local directories' industry. From the product perspective, we have taken into consideration usage behaviour to ensure user-friendliness and comprehensiveness of content by incorporating relevant lifestyle components for the users on the move."

3 In recent years, the street directory market has been abuzz. SLA's non-exclusive licence to YPS offers the media publisher of directories and guides opportunities to enhance their street directory to suit the different users. With this award, YPS is currently the only licensee using SLA's base map data for the publication of a Singapore street directory. Mr Lim Ming Khai, SLA's Head of Land Information Centre said, "YPS's business experience and familiarity with the street directory market should give them the foundation to take advantage of SLA's base map data to meet the demand for an up-to-date Singapore street directory."

4 The new edition of the Singapore street directory, published by YPS, will hit the stores in early February 2007.
