Incident at Chong Pang City Construction Site

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) was informed by Rich Construction Company Pte Ltd, the main contractor of Chong Pang City, of an incident that occurred at the construction site on 2 May 2026 involving a fallen metal bar during dismantling works at an upper floor of the integrated development.

2        The metal bar fell onto a nearby residential block, Blk 103 Yishun Ring Road, and damaged part of the roof along the common corridor. There were no reported injuries and no damage to the interior of the HDB flats.

3        A Professional Engineer has assessed the damage and confirmed that the overall roof structural system is intact and safe. Residents can continue to use the common area and access along the corridor except for the affected area which is cordoned off as a precautionary measure. Rectification works will be carried out as soon as possible. 

4        A stop work order has been issued for Chong Pang City construction site, pending a full investigation into the incident. The main contractor is currently working with relevant authorities to determine the cause.

5        We are monitoring the situation closely and will work with the relevant agencies to ensure the safety of residents and the surrounding area.
