Overview

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Law. We optimise land resources for the economic and social development of Singapore. This is important as land is used for a wide range of activities in Singapore.
Our role can be divided into developmental and regulatory.

In optimising land use, we maintain the national land information database. We are responsible for managing State land through land sales, leases, acquisitions and allocations.

We also develop and market State properties to optimise their use for the benefit for the public. We play a leading role in developing geospatial data infrastructure and policies, enabling knowledge and value creation for the Government, enterprise and community.

In our regulatory role, we are the national land registration authority and look after the registration of property transactions in Singapore. We are also responsible for the management and maintenance of the national land survey system.

We nurture an environment where best practices and ideas on land and resource administration and management are generated and adopted. With our multi-disciplinary team of estate professionals, planners, researchers, lawyers and surveyors, every project can become a forum for new ideas to flourish.

We have a network of strategic alliances and partnerships in both the public and private sectors. By working closely with them, we create and help extract greater value for our State properties and assets.
