MPA launches GeoSpace-Sea, a Singapore Marine and Coastal Database

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore launched a marine and coastal database entitled “GeoSpace-Sea” on 28 June, 2019.

Likened to SLA’s OneMap by MPA deputy chief hydrographer Jamie Chen, the map service aims to augment port and coastal planning and environmental management by providing geospatial data and land ownership information. In turn, this initiative is expected to benefit Singapore in terms of marine conservation, climate change adaptation and disaster response.
