In Leong Sze Hian's post on Temasek Review Emeritus (21 July 2012) regarding the Straits Times article (21 July 2012) "Tan Jee Say faces eviction from Orchard Road base", he raised the question of whether SLA had notified the media after the termination notice for the property at 38 Orchard Road was issued to the tenant (Chanson F&B Pte Ltd).
We wish to clarify that it was the Straits Times, on its own initiative, that approached SLA on Friday (20 July 2012) evening with questions concerning the property's tenancy issues and whether a Termination Notice was served on Chanson. It was thus necessary for SLA to respond to the queries and we did so factually.
It is not our practice to notify the media on matters pertaining to tenancy agreements.
