Singapore GeoSpatial Challenge SGC 2015
Unlocking your Sixth Sense . Enabling a Smart Nation
SGC2015 aims to encourage the use of Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) in schools by introducing sensors technology to the students and giving them an opportunity to innovate solutions to move Singapore towards becoming a Smart Nation.
This year’s challenge will focus on crowdsourcing environmental data using state-of-the-art sensor technology.
Teams will be given sensors to collect data in Parks and use GIST to analyse and visualise the collected data to illustrate your ideas and findings. Team size: 2-4 members in each team.
After receiving SGC sensors in May, teams will partake in GeoSense (Data Collection Fieldwork), GeoStartathon (E-lectures & Workshop), create GeoWorks online, and attend GeoAwards in July.
SGC is open to Secondary, Junior College, ITE, Polytechnics and University students in Singapore.
• Category 1: Secondary
• Category 2: JC, Polytechnic & ITE
• Category 3: University
